4×4 Post Christmas Decorations

This past Christmas, my wife and I wanted to continue the tradition of hand-making some gifts out of wood. We looked online for inspiration and came up with the idea to make a Santa Claus, reindeer and some snowmen out of 4×4-inch wood posts.

I already had the wooden posts leftover from my carpetball table project. I cut the posts to size, sanded them and then used a router to round all of the corners. Then I applied a base coat of acrylic paint to each post. My wife painted all of the finer details and sewed Santa’s hat and the snowmen’s scarves.

We gave the Santa/reindeer to my Mom and the two snowmen to my grandmother.
